Drill down from a budget report in Sage Intacct

After you implement the integration between Sage Intacct and Sage Intacct Planning, you can drill down to your source budget details from your budget or financial report in Intacct to review your budget assumptions in Planning.

To implement the integration between Sage Intacct and Sage Intacct Planning, complete the following procedures:

The drilldown feature only works on new budgets that were exported from Planning to Intacct. If you have existing Intacct budgets, they need to be updated before you can use the drilldown functionality.

You can also export a Planning budget to an existing Intacct budget. In this case, you can only drill down from the data that was exported from Planning.

For more information, see Export a budget to Sage Intacct.

After you export a budget from Planning, you can drill down from the budget amounts that appear in the Budget Report view to open the underlying budget line in Planning. For example, see the financial statement below:

Budget report in Sage Intacct Financials.

You can then compare the underlying budget assumptions in Planning with actual performance by simply clicking on one of the budget amounts.

In the example below, if you click on the Revenue - Subscription budget line, you can see the budget line details and its underlying calculations in the Inputs > Main tab of Planning.

Drill down to the budget line in Planning.

  • The budget line that opens in Planning is a version that was automatically created when it was exported to Intacct, which is not necessarily the working budget.

  • The budget line that opens in Planning appears in View only mode.

  • If the linked version was deleted in Planning, you can no longer drill down to the budget from Intacct.

If you made changes to your working budget after you exported your budget to Intacct, click on See changes in current version to view what updates have been made to your working budget. Alternatively, exit the saved version to view your working budget.
