Create and map a budget line

When you add a new account in Sage Intacct, you might find that there isn't a matching budget line available in Planning. In this case, create a budget line and map the account to it. This ensures that actual transactions are imported into the correct area of your budget and reports.

Add a budget line

Use this procedure to create a new budget line in your budget tree.

To add a budget line:

  1. Navigate to Inputs > Main.

  2. Browse to the section of the budget tree where you want to add the budget line and click the plus sign .

  3. Enter a name and select the budget line type.

  4. Click the check mark to confirm.

The new budget line is added to the bottom of the selected section.

Map the budget line

After you create the budget line, you can then map the corresponding Sage Intacct account to it.

To map a budget line:

  1. Navigate to Actuals > Mapping.

  2. Locate the account you want to map.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To map a single budget line, set the Mapping type to Single Budget Line, and then select the new budget line from the Budget Line column.

    • To map multiple budget lines, set the Mapping type to Multiple budget lines, select the new budget line from the Budget Line column, and then select the relevant dimensions from the Dimensions column.

If you want to create multiple budget lines in a single operation, use the Import data from Excel or a budget template.
