Create copy for collaboration
The planning cycle is most effective when the right people can contribute without putting your working plan at risk.
A copy to share lets colleagues review, update, and refine plan data in their own version while you remain in control of the original plan.
After their work is complete, you can review the changes and decide which updates to merge, helping you collaborate confidently while maintaining a single source of truth.
Start
-
Open the plan that you want to use as the basis for the copy.
-
From Actions, select Manage versions > Create version.
-
Enter a logical Name that identifies the copy.
-
(Optional) Enter a Description that explains the purpose of the copy.
-
Make sure Add actuals is unchecked.
-
To remain in the current plan, clear the Open plan when done checkbox. By default, the new version opens after you create it.
-
Select Create.
You can now share the copy with colleagues, as described in Share and unshare.
A success or failure message appears in Notifications.
