This document is intended for Sage Intacct Planning (SIP) customers and external users.

Sage Intacct Planning (SIP) has improved how you administer and manage user access to your company and your company’s budgets. All users in your company who currently have access to budgets have now been migrated to a centralized location in SIP. As a company owner, an Administration menu option provides you with better user management and an audit log of user management activities from the SIP application.

📝 Note that users must be added to a company in the SIP application before a company budget can be shared with that user.

Administration overview

An SIP user with administrator privileges (a Company owner) has the highest level of access to the application, including the ability to:

  • Create users

  • Assign user types (company user, consultant, support)

  • Modify user access (active or inactive)

As a Company owner, you have access to the Administration option from your user profile menu, where you manage user access to companies and company budgets. If you are not a Company owner, this menu option does not appear.

User management

To add user access to a company:

  1. If you have access to multiple budgets of one or more companies, select the relevant company from the company dropdown you want to manage and allow user access.

  2. From the upper-right corner of the toolbar, click on your user profile and select Administration.

  3. From the User tab, click Add new user.

  4. Enter the User details (email, first and last names, and user status).

  5. Select Owner if you want to designate the user as a company owner. Up to 2 company owners can be added per company. To change the company owner, select the user from the Users list and clear Owner.

  6. Click Save. The new user is added to the Users list.

  7. From the user profile menu, select My budgets to return to your budget.

Once a new user is added to a company, an automatic email is sent to the user notifying that access has been granted to SIP with the login URL and a temporary password.

Audit log

The audit log tracks all activities associated with user management. You can click the hyperlinks from the Action details column to see the user details, depending on the action performed.
